RECENT PHD SUPERVISION TO SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION
Professor Salama has built a sustained record of doctoral supervision across more than two decades and multiple institutions. As primary supervisor or Chair of Supervision Committee, he has successfully guided 22 PhD researchers to completion, and has contributed as second supervisor to a further 9 completed doctoral theses. In addition, he has provided external supervision to doctoral researchers at other institutions, offering specialist expertise and independent scholarly guidance. The PhD scholars he has supervised have pursued original and substantive research spanning urban design and quality of life, housing typologies, social and cultural sustainability, spatial justice, urban fragmentation, emerging cities, and post-war urban development, producing a body of knowledge that resonates across the Global North and the Global South.
